The UFC has returned to Texas and Torque is pumped to sponsor two amazing fighters in the states capital, Austin. UFC Fight Night 57 boasts a great line-up of action. Veteran’s and up coming stars align to make a full night of fights. The main card is a match up that many fans have been waiting for a long time in Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson. With Aldo narrowly escaping the wrath of Chad Mendes and Conor Mcgregor already in line with his next match up, the winner of this match is expected to be the next title fight. Edgar lost a 5 round decision to Aldo in Feb of 2013, and Cub faced Aldo all the way back in 2009. The co-Main event this weekend faces Bobby Green and Edson Barboza who are both well rounded finishers.
Longtime Sponsor and Torque Athlete Chico Camus is the forth fight on the Main card and faces Brad Pickett. Chico looks to restart his win streak in the Featherweight Division (125) after a loss to Chris Holdsworth. This will be Camu’s 6th UFC bout and is currently 2-2 with a no contest. Pickett will be on his third flyweight fight and has had a spotty record, currently coming off a loss to Ian Mcall. Pickett is currently ranked #11 and Chico is unranked in the division yet, but looks to make a statement against the tough veteran.
Team Alpha Male standout and #2 ranked flyweight Joseph Benavidez steps back into the octagon with Torque against Dustin Ortiz. Benavidez (20-4) rebounded from a disappointing KO loss to “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson by choking out Tim Elliott. Benavidez has always rebounded quickly and his only losses in the past three years are to the current Champion. He’s finished 4 of his 5 victories at 125 lbs and has held steady as one of the sport’s best non-champions. Torque is very excited to have Benavidez back in action in this exciting match up Saturday night in Austin Texas.
