Fabricio Werdum Torque Sponsorship

Torque is very excited to announce the addition of UFC veteran and #1 ranked Heavyweight Fabrício Werdum to Team Torque! The Brazilian training out of Los Angeles is on the hells of a Heavyweight Interim Title fight, and Torque will be in Werdum’s corner. In this historic first UFC fight in Mexico Werdum will face the heavy hitting Mark Hunt in a five round battle. UFC180 was originally scheduled to be headlined by current UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top contender Fabrício. However, on October 21, it was announced that Velasquez was forced to pull out of the bout due to an injured knee and was replaced by Mark Hunt. Mark hunt comes into this fight after an impressive finish of fellow heavy hitter Roy Nelson and a majority-draw decision against Antonio Silva.

The heavyweight division has long been a fan favorite with Champions like Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, Frank Mir, Randy Couture, and Werdum looks to add his name to the list. Werdum is a two-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, a two-time Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Heavyweight Champion and European jiu-jitsu champion. He holds black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai. Werdum has competed in PRIDE, the UFC, Strikeforce, and Jungle Fight. Fabrício has run through the top of the division dominating guys like Travis Browns, Nogueria, and Roy Nelson. After his return to the UFC in 2012 he has not lost a bought and looks to continue his streaking success to the Championship…and keep it. With a dangerous ground game and razor sharp jiu-jitsu combined with devastating stand up, Werdum stands only 1 test away from raising UFC gold in the air.
