Nick Bruce just got back from a successful weekend in Toronto, Canada for his first competition of the year, Toronto X Jam. Tronto X Jam coincides with the Toronto International Bicycle Show, and hosts many of the world’s best Professional Freestyle BMX Riders. This past weekend they competed for $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Nick Bruce qualified for finals with some amazing runs. Even with a hard crash in the finals, which led him rushing to the hospital, he still managed to grab a podium spot landing him in 3rd place for the second year in a row.
Since Nick had crashed and split his eyebrow open wide, resulting a lot of spilled blood, he had to leave the venue before the event wrapped up. Unfortunately had to leave before the awards ceremony. In fact, he actually found out he placed on the podium when he was in the hospital and he felt surprised and he was relieved with happiness.
Nick was going for a world’s first BMX trick when he fell, so keep an eye out in the near future because he plans to land this gnarly trick before anyone else!
Check out this video clip from the event and look for Nick Bruce at the end landing some sick tricks.
