UFC 177 Dillashaw Barao II – Torque Sports & Performance

UFC 177 Dillashaw Barao II

UFC 177 is just around the corner and the bantamweight belt is on the line, and this time it will be TJ Dillashaw walking into the Octagon with the Belt to defend the Championship. The much anticipated rematch is almost here and everyone expects fireworks. Barao who previously had not lost a fight in more than 9 years was dominated by Dillashaw for 5 rounds before a late TKO loss. Two of the top pound for pound fighters in the world face off again this weekend at Sleep Train Arena in Dillashaw’s backyard Sacramento. The Bantamweight mix-up begins here as the top of the division includes teammate and training partner Urijah Faber. With Dominick Cruz coming back to action against Torque fighter Takeya Mizugaki, the winner of these two up-coming fights could very well face each other next for the belt.

The heated rivalry between Dillishaw and Barao adds to the history of Team Alpha Male VS Nova Uniao in Brazil. Earlier this week Jose Aldo and Torque Athlete Chad Mendes revitalized their dislike (or straight up hatred) for each other with a shoving match during a press conference promoting their fight Oct 25th.

This Saturday tune in early to catch all of the action. The night kicks off with a Fight Pass bout with first time Torque fighter in the UFC Chris Wade, facing off against Cain Carrizosa. Chris coming in with a 7-1-0 record is a wrestler fighting out of East Islip Kickboxing in Long Island. Wade is the Ring of Combat Lightweight Champion and brings with him great kickboxing experience against Carrizosa.

Scott “Young Guns” Jorgensen returns to the Octagon after a 3 Round decision win last June 7th. Scott looks to start a win streak after losing a handful of tough fights against top contenders. The ever scrappy Jorgensen faces Henry Cejudo an Olympic freestyle wrestling gold medalist.

Rounding out the night for Torque on the Main card is Torque fighter Shayna Baszler facing #10 ranked bantamweight Bethe Correia. Baszler is a hardened veteran with almost 11 years of experience, and has sharp technical skills in every phase to show for her tenure in the sport. Currently training under UFC star Josh Barnett, and possessing a record of 15-8, Baszler has made a name for herself as a submission specialist. Fighting in Invicta, Elite XC, and Strikeforce it was only a matter of time before seeing her in the UFC. Selected as a Team Rousey Member of The ultimate Fighter Baszler faced Juliana Pena in her first match.
